Transport of Siberia: problems and solutions

On Friday, June 7^th the Russian Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov participated in the international Forum Transport of Siberia, listened to the reports of government officials and prominent businesspeople on the state of the transport complex in the Novosibirsk Region. 

‘The problems of transport do not only concern professionals, they are important for our society in the first place. Development of transport in Russia and its regions is the cornerstone, the main impetus for developing various spheres and, most importantly, providing comfort and convenience for all the users of transport. The tasks that the federal and local entities of the transport complex are facing now cannot be accomplished without the participation of the public. They include increasing comfort of passengers, ensuring safety of traffic, improving mobility, and so on.  Only together will we be able to work out the key directions for developing certain kinds of transport, methodological basis, ways of training the professionals. Therefore, this forum has a correct format allowing for popularizing and covering important issues’, - said the Russian Federation Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov.     

Besides, the Minister of Transport and the Governor of the Novosibirsk Region summed up the results of the transport forums and exhibitions that featured new models of passenger transport, freight carriers, and road construction vehicles. The Governor and the Minister of Transport also visited the exhibition halls, spoke with representatives of business spheres, and major transport companies that were present at the AvtoSib Exhibition.
