The exhibition’s official opening ceremony featured the Russian Federation Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov. In his welcoming address to the guests of the exhibition he emphasized particular importance of the event, since the exhibition of achievements of the road construction industry in Russia must eventually become a place for dialogue between experts of the industry and contribute to solving the relevant problems of Road construction sphere in Russia.

‘Today, on the eve of the Road Builder’s Day, so to say, our common holiday, we are opening this exhibition of achievements and modern technological solutions in the road construction sphere. And this is not an accident as the state of our roads always draws the attention of all the people living in Russia. The main exhibition of road industry is traditionally held in Moscow, but in only a few days some very important events are going to happen in the ‘life’ of road construction sphere right here, in Novosibirsk. Most notably, the State Council Presidium that the whole road industry of our country has been preparing for. As well as the opening of this year’s signature construction objects – the Bugrinsky Bridge over the Ob River in Novosibirsk. No doubt that the opening of the exhibition of achievements and modern technological solutions in the road construction sphere became a memorable event in the series of all these activities. And though this exhibition does not have that many objects, only 40 exhibits, but as we say, starting a process is what’s more important. I hope that this exhibition and other events of transport sphere will become regular events held in Novosibirsk. It’s quite a logical thing as this exhibition presents interesting projects, interesting stands of companies aimed at innovative development of road industry. Motorway service facilities, composite materials are being presented here for the first time. And, of course, this trend of using new technologies, innovative materials is especially significant for road construction sphere. Since all this not only allows for saving money, but also ensures making our roads comply with the best international standards and also partially achieving an important and relevant goal of import substitution. I’m sure that this exhibition and the events I mentioned earlier will let leaders of road industry discuss all relevant issues and exchange experience’, said Maksim Sokolov.According to the information from the event organizers, specialists participating in the business program of the exhibition will also consider strategic and practical steps of increasing the durability of motorways, as well as ways to introduce innovative technologies. The specialists will also present their plans of equipping federal highways with the automated system of weight control for heavy vehicles. Additionally, the experts will present their solutions to improving the road construction financing system and extending the practice of creating interstate intelligent transport corridors.

The exhibition will continue its work on October 8.
