The Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex Will Be Hosting the 9th Siberian Venture Fair
On June 4 -5, 2015 the 9th Siberian Venture Fair will be held as part of the 3rd International Forum of Technological Development “TECHNOPROM 2015”.
The fair was organized by the Government of the Novosibirsk Region, the Russian Association of Venture Investments (RAVI), Government Autonomous Agency “The Novosibirsk Regional Fund for the Support of Science and Innovative Activities”, and Non-Commercial Organization “The Fund for Assisting the Development of Venture Investments in Small Businesses Operating in the Research and Development Sphere of the Novosibirsk Region”.
The goal of the Fair lies in stimulating interaction between venture investors and entrepreneurs working in research and development sphere, as well as improving continuous communications with scientific community, industrial sector, government agencies, and development institutions.
The activities to be held as part of the Siberian Venture Fair are aimed at innovative development of the Novosibirsk Region economy, which first of all implies reindustrialization and import substitution.
The organizers, who traditionally make up the program of the Fair, focus on events that contribute to improving the investment attractiveness of high-tech sector in regional economy; stimulate demand and introduction of innovative technologies; demonstrate modern capabilities of technological innovation sector; define the potential for creating new manufacturing facilities aimed at import substitution; attract investments in technological companies of the region.
The Contest of Exponents, which traditionally closes the Siberian Venture Fair, allows for assessing the innovative and investment potential of projects; presentations of projects conducted by their developers; innovative management experience that senior project managers have; the availability of a feasible business plan; the availability of investment offers.
41 innovation companies were assessed in 2014, and the following projects were awarded:
- LLC “SPECTRATECH” (Project: “DriverAssist – a system for preventing road accidents and helping drivers”) – the bronze diploma.
- LLC Research and Production Company “RELSIB” (Project: “SmartThermometer ‘TERMOSHA’ ”) – the silver diploma.
- LLC “MICOPRO” (Projects: “Effective and safe biological agents based on predatory fungi for the extermination of agricultural pest insects”) – the gold diploma.
A special certificate for 1 million rubles on further commercialization of the project was awarded to LLC “UNICOM AERO” (Project: “The service system for the creation of IT-infrastructure at airports and airlines”), which allowed the company to continue working on the project and start its successful implementation.
The Siberian Venture Fair of 2014 brought together 95 leading foreign and Russian experts and investors, the exhibition held as part of the Fair was attended by 1,130 people in total.
The Venture Fair is a key event for innovative economy of the Novosibirsk Region that allows raising the competence of venture entrepreneurship, examining innovative projects, finding partners to develop innovative businesses, establishing direct contacts between investors and innovation companies.
