The Exhibition of Flower Gardening and Landscape Design Took Place at the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex
The Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex was turned into a real flower garden for 4 days. On August 15-18 Novosibirsk hosted the exhibition of flower gardening and landscape design ‘Flowers, Gardens, and Parks of Siberia’.
The first exhibition event of the season featured 81 companies from France, Columbia, and Russia. Participants of the exhibition presented their picturesque stands with pot-grown and decorative plants, cut flowers, seeds, sprouts, and young plants, as well as gardening equipment, and materials, to the visitors of the Expo Centre.
The program of the exhibition also included the Professional Floristry Open Championship of Siberia. Besides, the exhibition featured floral shows from famous florists of Russia and the world. Chief Landscaping Directorate at the City Hall of Novosibirsk also helped organize a landscape design contest among the parks of the city.
The opening ceremony of the ‘Flowers, Gardens, and Parks of Siberia’ Exhibition featured Vasily Pronkin temporarily acting as the Deputy Governor of the Novosibirsk Region, Mayor of Novosibirsk Anatoly Lokot, Yury Zarubin temporarily acting as Chairman of the Novosibirsk Deputy Council.
In his welcoming speech to the guests and visitors of the exhibition Vasily Pronkin noted the importance and relevance of this event for the improvement of the city landscaping, ‘I am convinced that beautiful green areas in various parts of Novosibirsk, offered by the participants of the contest, turn our city into a real capital. Novosibirsk is not only famous for its defense industry, it is also known for its unique appearance. I wish all the participating companies good luck in signing new contracts, sharing their experience, and I also wish everybody positive attitude’. The significance of the ‘Flowers, Gardens, and Parks of Siberia’ Exhibition was also emphasized by the Mayor of Novosibirsk Anatoly Lokot, ‘It is surprising that such intricate landscapes can be created by hands of people. It is impossible to live in a city completely ‘wrapped up’ in concrete and glass. We try to bring more green areas and flowers to Novosibirsk’.
