SITT Tourism Exhibition (TourSib) Featured Presentation of Resorts in the Crimea
Representatives of the tourist business from the Republic of Crimea presented tourist opportunities available at the Crimean Peninsula to the visitors of SITT (TourSib) Exhibition held at the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex.
After the Crimea joined the Russian Federation, new opportunities are provided to hotels, tourist bases, children’s camps located at the territory of the peninsula as well as to people from all over Russia. The main goal of the meeting held at the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex was establishing new contacts with travel agencies.
Area of the Crimea is over 26 thousand square metres with a population of more than 2 million people. Residents of the Crimea represent 100 nationalities and communities, which is the cause of the very special hospitality, as the Crimeans say. Average annual amount of sunny days at the territory of the Crimea is 225, and in some areas, such as Yalta and Sevastopol, for example, the amount of sunny days equals 300. Territory of the peninsula is rich in various landscapes: mountains, prairies, and sand beaches.
Resort infrastructure of the Crimea includes 235 hotels, 467 sanatoriums, 85 SPA complexes, and 560 beaches. Besides, the Crimea has 102 camps for children.
The Crimea has been the centre of international tourism for many years. The Crimean Peninsula offers various kinds of tourism including medical tourism, recreational activities for children, archeological activities, ethnocultural tourism, pilgrimage opportunities, active rest (rock climbing, diving etc.), wine tasting, sightseeing, conducting congress activities.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to recreational activities for children well-known since the Soviet times. Over 100 children’s camps are ready to receive children at age 7 to 17. Large amount of available recreational patterns allow for individual approach. This year representatives of Crimean camps are ready to meet all children who arrive in the Crimea personally, while at the stage of establishing new relations. Special attention will also be paid to ensuring security of children who have a rest at the Crimean camps.
The main motto of the Crimean tourism presentation is ‘Have a Rest at Home!’ Representatives of the tourist business sincerely hope that the flow of tourists coming to the Crimea from all regions of Russia this year will increase considerably.
