Popcorn: Festival with the Taste of Movies, Games and Costume Play
On May 13, 2017, a two-day PopCorn 2017 festival of popular culture opened in the Exhibition Centre: movies, serials, comic books, video games and costume play.
Popcorn 2017 consists of:
- Cyber section, where the most luckiest ones battle in a cyber tournament in DotA, Overwatch, CounterStrike and Hearthstone sponsored by the Russian Federation of Computer Sport.
- Board games section, where you can head-hands-feet dive into misadventures of a feudal lord trying to get land in his greedy little hands in Carcassonne, or put yourself in a detective’s shoes to investigate mysterious events of Arkham.
- Costume play section.
- Authors Alley with invited renowned artists-comicsists.
- GameDev section, where gaming industry developers tell listeners about how to write cool games.
- Dozens of interactive booths for various fandoms (it is priceless to not just sit on the Seven Kingdoms Iron Throne, but also to take a picture of this majestic moment as a keepsake.)
There are also conferences and autograph sessions with cult figures specially invited to the convention.
