Female Drivers in Novosibirsk Will Compete With Each Other in Their Driving Skills

On September 28 the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex will be hosting a driving competition for female drivers Start Women.

According to Head of the STSI Directorate of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Novosibirsk Region Sergey Schtelmach, the main goal of this event is attracting the attention of female drivers to the importance of observing traffic rules.

‘The amount of car accidents grows up in the autumn-winter period. That is caused by weather changes, an increase of motor transport on the streets, a lesser amount of daylight hours. However, the lack of drivers’ attention and their negligent attitude towards traffic rules remain among the main causes of car accidents. I’m sure that such events as Start Women will contribute to the improvement of a critical driving situation. I wish all the participants success but let only the strongest win’, said Sergey Schtelmach. Participants of the event will not only have to pass the traffic rules test but also demonstrate their driving skills.   

Any woman with a car and a driver’s license can take part in the Start Women event. There are no age or driving term limitations. According to Head of the ‘Autolady - NSK’ Movement Tatyana Zlenko, the main requirement for driving ladies who want to take part in this competition is their desire to fight and win.

‘We hope that sports gusto and competitiveness will be tightly connected to high spirits during the contest’, told us Tatyana Zlenko.

Event Schedule:

9:00 A.M.– 11:00 A.M.- Registration of participants. Training rides;

11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.  – Stage 1. Traffic rules test;

12:00 P.M. – 12:20 P.M. – Official opening of the competition;

12:30 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. – Stage 2. Figure driving;

3:30 P.M.- Awarding ceremony.

The competition is conducted with the support from the STSI Directorate of the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Novosibirsk Region, ‘Autolady - NSK’ Movement, Non-Commercial Limited Liability Company ‘The Novosibirsk Automobile Federation’, Non-Commercial Partnership ‘Transport Union of Russia’, the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex.
