Drifters from Krasnoyarsk Solidified Their Leading Position

The last summer month started with a hot drift competition held at the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex. Fans of extreme sports had been preparing for another race all month through, willing to see their favorite participants and enjoy the spectacular sports event. 

On August 3 the outdoor territory of the exhibition complex again turned into a racing track for 30 pilots from Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Irkutsk, Berdsk, the Town of Ob, and Vladivostok.

A racer from Krasnoyarsk, Georgy Chivchyan, became the winner of the tough struggle. Apart from his experience and perseverance, Georgy’s victory was brought to him by his legendary car NGK Nissan Silvia S15. Georgy is actually a multiple winner of regional and all-Russian competitions. Back in 2013 he became a drift champion of Russia. Therefore, his victory was expected. The second best pilot was Arkady Tsaregradtsev (TMS BadAss Nissan Skyline GT-R R32, Krasnoyarsk). Third place was taken by Yevgeny Losev (Toyota Mark II, Irkutsk).    

In addition to competitive racing sessions, organizers of the event, the Novosibirsk Automobile Federation prepared a real surprise for the spectators – they organized a real drift taxi auction. Every visitor of the competition could buy a ride in a sports car along the racing track with his or her favorite racer. The auction allowed selling 8 rides with the pilots whose cars met all the requirements for passenger transportation. The starting price equaled 2,000 rubles, while the maximum amount of money, 10,000 rubles, was offered by a spectator for a ride with Yevgeny Losev, one of the winners of the sports event.

It’s worth reminding that the Novosibirsk Expo Centre International Exhibition Complex already hosted several drift competitions during this season. The next competition is scheduled for the second half of August.
