Best Bus Drivers Selected in Novosibirsk

According to the contest organizers, this traditional annual event aims at promotion of the bus driver profession and precedes the professional holiday "The Motor Transport Workers' Day".

This year was the first time to pick the modern and convenient area of "Novosibirsk Expo Centre" as the contest venue, which allowed to fulfill all ideas of organizers. Next to the main location hosting the contest, the exhibition of the state-of-the-art passenger motor transport as well as the old-timers show took place. During the breaks between the runs the audience enjoyed vocal and dancing performances.

40 bus drivers participated in the contest –  all workers of the public city and rural transport with at least 3 years "Class D" driving experience. Contest runs were performed with 3 motor transport types –  LIAZ-5256, PAZ-3205 and Ford Minivan.

The referees evaluated both the theoretical knowledge and practical driving skills. The area next to the Expo Centre was used by the bus drivers who masterfully performed various tasks, e.g. "S-turns" (also driving backwards), "parallel parking", "garage".

The team of the municipial unitary enterprise "PATP 4" achieved the best results and won the team classification.
